Media Planner/Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for managing the media needs for assigned clients – including media research, planning, presentation, buying and post-buy analysis.  The Media Planner/Buyer will report directly to the Director, Media and will primarily support Canadian clients, but be responsible for supporting all AdFarm clients, and the media deportment as need.

The Planner/Buyer will have experience with all types of media –print, TV, radio, online, direct, outdoor and other methods of message delivery. Experience in social media a plus.  The Planner/Buyer should be experienced in carefully calculating media strategies and buying tactics through research and analytical models to determine what is best for the client based on the product/service, the client's goals and budgets. Media research,/analysis and presentation skills are critical.  The Planner/Buyer will be required to learn and adhere to AdFarm media processes and protocol.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The key roles and tasks of the Media Planner/Buyer include:

-Maintain an understanding and knowledge of all research and media evaluation tools, market conditions and opportunities to ensure effective media plans/buys

-Provide media and account team/lead with project leadership, status, information and accountability/measurement

-With the support of the account team, develop and present media strategies and plans to clients. Work with the account team and client to finalize and execute media plans

-Meet with to clients to discuss and present projects, as needed/required

-Manage buys in STRATA/Advantage and work with Group Account Lead and Accounting on monthly billing accuracy

-Work on media for both US and Canadian clients, as assigned

-Support the media team on PR equivalencies, ongoing media updates, buying and reporting efforts

-Meet with media sales vendors as needed

Requirements


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-A bachelor's degree and/or related experience is required.
-A minimum of 5 years of experience in media analytics, planning and buying.
-Additional media and/or agriculture education or experience is beneficial


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to work with a wide range of people, including clients, sales people and AdFarmers
-Must be able to analyze research data to determine best placement for the client's needs
-Ability to live the values of AdFarm and model them for the industry, the media, the clients and AdFarmers
-Must be well-organized
-The ability to work long hours, especially under tight deadlines
-Must be able to handle pressure well
