The primary role of the AdFarm Team West Intern is to provide account coordination support on several exciting campaigns. The position provides the perfect opportunity for a student interested in marketing and communications to explore the work of an agency in the dynamic agricultural industry, and learn the ropes from experienced leaders and clients. Specific assignments include the PR-focused events that run July 1 – September 5 and a summer advertising and promotional campaign for a major AdFarm client. The position reports to Team West Account Manager. The intern's work will cover, but not be limited to, the following:
• Assist with administration and organization for client campaigns
• Coordination for 8 to 12 outdoor events across Alberta throughout the summer (including some weekend work)
• Project Management – scheduling, budget control reporting and multidisciplinary function management on a per project basis
• Contact reports, filing, and production trafficking for all assigned client work
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate will be enrolled in a communications or marketing program at the college or university level. Additionally, the successful candidate will:
• Possess strong writing and communication skills
• Have a keen interest in a future career in marketing communications and advertising
• Be knowledgeable or interested in public relations, media and event communications
• Be highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision
• Be capable with MS Office programs (specifically Excel)
• Understand web- and social media-based communications activities
